Inspired by those seen in Canterbury Cathedral, I decided to create an ink painting based on the pagan symbol of the Green Man:

This particular example follows the tradition of the Foliate Head. I’m really happy with my return to using inks (my first go with green); I hope I’ve done justice to the form. Generally I find Green Men a far more visually appealing architectural motif than gargoyles. On another note I notice that the face itself looks a little like Hugh Jackman – this wasn’t intentional.

In other news I’d like to give further shout-outs to Ash N. Finn for liking Hanasu, and to Aaron, Anna, Lois, Bernadett, The Sofi’s World, Nonoy Manga and Doodle Dad for liking yesterday’s Knotwork Peacock.
