Today’s image was borne out of wanting to illustrate the idea of being trapped by personal inertia. I’d originally considered a broken pocketwatch, but then thought a sandless hourglass was more apposite and less derivative:

I’m quite pleased with the image; I’d hoped to convey a sense of melancholia and I think it comes across (the muted colours of the girl in the glass helps).

It wasn’t necessarily my intent that this week’s images should start to become more reflective, what with this and the ‘Psychoanalysis’ piece, but it’s the beginnings of flexing my thoughts a little more. More than likely it’s a good thing in generating more interesting future work here and with other projects.
