Inspired by the snowstorms of last night and this morning, using blue ink and silver fineliner:

The challenge here was trying to create several unique types of snowflake. It’s long amazed me that there are no two alike snowflakes; something else that’s also intrigued me in connection with this, and something I’d like to explore in future images, is the reoccurence of fractal patterns in this and other areas of nature. The areas where mathematics and natural science intersect with art are quite fascinating and I like trying to spot examples of this where I can.
