For a few days now I’ve been intrigued by the light patterns thrown up on the ceiling by our lobby lightbulb; it seems like some kind of weird flower and doesn’t behave like I’d expect it to – i.e., radiating outwards in a circle. So I decided to sketch it this evening (the circle in the middle is where the bulb would be):

This is something of a departure from the stuff I would normally draw – I lean far more towards representative than abstract – and as such I’m glad I gave it a go. As with ‘Reconciliation’ I’d quite like to redo this one with paint/ink, possibly in yellow or sepia.
